The BJP and ally Shiv Sena are leading in Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections as per latest trends and the counting of votes is underway. The final results will be declared by today evening. Earlier, exit polls have predicted a sweep for the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the elections to 29 municipal corporations held on Thursday.
A major incident occurred on Tuesday in the Angar Nagar Panchayat election in Solapur district. The nomination of Ujwala Tithe, candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), was declared invalid due to the absence of the proposer’s signature.
